Here there is a preference for meeting to bring the first draft together but, should this not be possible, then a prolonged telephone discussion will provide the initial base. The first draft simply provides a base for development. After further debate and discussion between client and consultant the telling passport, the marketing document which a c.v. really is, is brought together The provision of support into finding a role for the client which is suited to their c.v. can be a separate module, this to include considering the broad marketplace which job seeking can cover today. There can then follow the development of skills to “wow” the interviewer. The latter is, of course, best carried out on a one to one basis with, as always, the presentation being totally tailored to the requirements of the individual. In other words there may be those who simply wish to go through a mock interview while, with others,there could well be a preference for a module initially to be held on “How to ensure that you win at interviews” which would cover many of the essential pointers for success. During all the time that clients are working with the Company, access is available to the professionals in the Better Job Scotland team to provide assistance, coaching, guidance and support. At no stage will our clients be on their own, whether it is that they are uncertain as to how best to develop a letter of application or whether it is to consider which of various openings made available seem best suited to them, meetings are always arranged, telephone responses are always provided.
